Upgrading to Windows 10 will be free. Many have asked this question since the announcement of the first Technical Preview of Windows 10 and we're happy to announce that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to customers running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows Phone 8.1. You'll need to upgrade within the first year to take advantage of this offer though.
